Sponsorship of sporting and cultural events in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug is another important part of SPD social performance. SPD is a permanent sponsor of the Biathlon World Cup and World Championship events, the Spirit of Fire festival of young filmmakers, the Golden Tambourine international festival of TV shows and films, and other regional, national and international functions. These events help enhance the prestige of the okrug, attract new tourists and benefit the economy. SPD regards its participation in sponsoring those events as a contribution to the sustainable development of the region. In 2003-2009, SPD spent $13 million on charity events and social programs in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. |
